Dr. Lal Mian, a registered environmental health specialist, is coordinator of the environmental health science program. Prior to joining the Department as a full time faculty in 1999, Dr. Mian worked for the San Bernardino County Department of Public Health—Environmental Health Services for over 13 years and the Department of Entomology, University of California, Riverside for over three years. He received M.Sc. Honors from the University of Peshawar (Pakistan), M.S. from the American University of Beirut (Lebanon) and Ph.D. from the University of California at Riverside.

Besides his area of expertise, vector-borne disease control, Dr. Mian has been teaching various courses in the field of environmental health.
